Poker originates from several games, but hardly anybody knows these games. One of the Chinese or Persian games can be the an ancestor of the game. China was the first country in which card games appeared, in Persia there was a game with 25 cards and 5 suits and in France gamblers began to use decks consisting of suits made from spades, diamonds, clubs, and hearts. So, the origin of the game is still discussed. In the USA the game appeared in New Orleans and it was spread all over the country. In 1835 Poker was one of the most popular games and then it was different from the modern version of the game. Later, during the Civil War there appeared new variations of this game and they became very popular. Stud, Draw and Straight Pokers were introduced and they became every popular. Poker could be played in nearly every town during the Wild West period in the USA. Poker is a unique game as each player plays against other players, but not against the house. Though there are a lot of Poker variations, which differ from each other, the principle of winning hands remain the same. Nowadays Poker is played all over the world.
