Poker is popular all over the world. On the one hand it is based on the card games, which were popular several centuries ago in Europe, on the other hand, the modern version of the game is an American game. There are many variations of Poker, but they differ mostly in details and all follow the same basic principles. If you know the principles of the game well enough you can easily be a winner. Poker is a game of betting and card combinations. Traditionally the strongest hand available is a combination of 5 highest-ranking cards, there are poker variations, in which the best hands are different. In a High/Low Poker game, two players have the opportunity to win and split the pot. The player who has the strongest hand and the player, who has the weakest hand are the winners. All bets made by all players go in a pile of chips in the center of the table, called the pot. If you don’t want to meet the highest bet by some other player you can’t compete for the pot. Because of this rule, players are able to bluff and win the pot. The object of the game is to win the pot. There are two ways of winning the pot. After making all the bets there is a showdown. The player who has the strongest hand is the winner. If during betting, a player makes a bet that no other players are willing to meet, that player wins the pot without showing his/her cards. All cards of the 52 card deck are used. The cards are dealt one at a time, clockwise motion (number of cards varies with game). Aces are high, but aces rank low in the sequence A-2-3-4-5.
