So how does the betting work? In most casinos players have to ante to get cards. There are three options available for the players after the deal of the cards. If you make a bet, which is at least equal to the previous bet you call. You can raise, but before you have to meet the highest bet of the table. After you call the other amount it is basically up to you how much you want to bet. Let's take the example from above: somebody on the table raises a dollar, you have to call him with a dollar and then you can raise whatever you want. Some casinos limit the raising amount. Players can’t exceed this raising amount. You can fold. In this case you lose your bet and any chance of winning the pot. Fold only if you have a very bad hand without any chance of forming a valid hand.
