While each poker player has their own unique playing and decision making style, there are basically only four main categories of players. All these types of players have their own techniques which can be very useful under certain circumstances.
There are at least two main attributes for each of these types.
Whether the player is loose and play a lot of hands or tight and play very few hands.
Whether the player is aggressive or passive. An aggressive player raises and bluffs a lot. A passive player prefers to call the bets of other players.
Loose-Aggressive
In fact it is the weakest category in online poker. This player gambles according to the following principle: he raises after every flop. Loose-Passive
This is another weak category. The players of this group will gain success if there are a lot of wild players at the table and everything is determined only by luck. These players always call other players’ bets disregarding their strength. Such players can stay in the game longer than anybody else, but they will never be able to beat the house edge.
Tight-Passive
With the help of bad players at the table players of this type win. Such players are easy to notice. Such players never bluff. If this type of player has a decent hand or a lot of outs, he or she will call your bet or make a small bet. They fold if they have a bad hand.
Tight-Aggressive
This style can be very successful for online play. They have the following principle of the game: see a flop with a decent hand and then take a shot at the pot after the flop with a bet.
